Film Festival

Yesterday we were lucky enough to go to the film festival. I was so excited to watch other movies from different schools, along with ours. We had to leave at 10:30 and return at 1:30.

Our movie re presenters were Tupouseini and Saluselo, when they approached the spotlight some of us were giving them the courage to talk by clapping our hands.

There were lots of different movies, but my favourite movie I saw was one of ours, of course and every other different movies aswell.

Cooking Fish Pie

Step 1- Peel the potatoes and bake until its cooked
2- mash it up and lay it out into the baking tin
3-mix tuna fish with 1/2 can of mushroom cream
and 1/2 c of mayonnaise
4-mix well top up on potato with cheese and bake for 10 mins

Today me and my buddy Leanah made "Fish Pie".
It was such a quick dish to make "only for 10 mins". When we baked our fish pie it came out looking like you would want to eat  it all the time.

Tennis With Pete

Yesterday we had tennis with coach Pete. It was such a horrible and rainy day that we had to play tennis in the multi-purpose room. He taught us some outstanding skills like rallying with another opponents and controlling the ball when your hitting it with the racquet. It was so hard to learn tennis because I've never played before, but now that we are learning I now have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Mince Gravy

On Wednesday we went to tech at Tamaki College. My buddy and I
made mince gravy with onion, mince, mixed vegetables, and  vegetable ox. We had to dice the onion, with a quarter of mince. Following that, after the onion and mince were fried, we had to put the vegetables and the gravy all together. Once we finished cooking we ate our dish of food.

Making Quiche With Mrs Tuipolotu

Today we made QUICHE with Mrs Tuipolotu.

When I found out we were making this, my eyes popped, I was so excited about cooking something that I've haven't done before. It was like a new environment, kind of like going to college.

The ingredients we used to make the Quiche were eggs, ham, cheese, and a bit of water to top it up. Once the mixture was set, it was ready for us to take out of the pan so that we could eat it.

Hmm, so yum!

School Cross Country

Few, I'm so tired from doing cross country! When I was running I felt really hyped to run around the block for 2 laps. For my first lap I sprinted, then for my second I started to get tired so I jogged. On my second lap I was really proud of myself that I came third place on the finishing line.

Our School Powhiri

About a week ago, prefects represented a well done " POWHIRI by the help of Mrs Riley. All students were seated in the multi-purpose room. With the help of hand, Riiana as a prefect was welcoming all the teachers on to stage, then later all of us were singing a Maori song. At the end of the POWHIRI, the teachers and some other students had to do a hongi as well.

NSW Vs QLD

Image result for nsw vs qld
NSW had smashed Queensland from the first Origin game and the second, they are now the champion's of the "STATE OF ORIGIN" series. Queensland had shocking performance against the NSW team, when they were playing the game surprisingly NSW had took over winning the game after all. Next time I'd preferred to see the Queensland team  take place because since Johnathan Thruston,  Billy Slater, Carmen Smith  had retried I would still expect the Queensland team to try their best.

Goodbye To Jess!

Sadly Jess is leaving us for good, but hopefully she comes back. I had fun dancing with Jess because she taught me alot of hard moves. I like the choreography she taught us because it was really cool and difficult at times. We've all learned alot from her, and will all miss her.

Another Day Of Hip Hop

Wow! Another day of  "Hip Hop". In the morning something surprisingly, shocking happened.

I noticed that it said on the board we had hip hop so I jumped up with excitement. When we were doing hip hop I felt a bit exhausted and tired because my group and I had to do alot of practice to get the movements right.

I was really scared because my group and I had to dance in front of the rest of the class. Feeling nervous,  I still participated in doing the dance.

Buddy Reading With Room 1 πŸ’₯

Today we were at buddy reading with Room 1. I was with Kain working with a year 1 who was reading to us. We  asked some questions to her and Losaline had answered it really quickly. Also Losaline could sound out the words if she didn't know them as well. My favourite part about doing buddy reading is that I like teaching the year 1 students how to read the words out loud and clear.

Syndicate Assembly

On Monday we had Syndicate Assembly, hosted by Room 10 .

We sang two songs which were Aotearoa by Stan Walker and Azonto by Fuse ODG .

The activities that we did were heads up and hip hop.

The first game that was played was heads up. Some of the students were competing against the teachers. The second game that was played was hip hop, and students were chosen to dance to the tutorial that we did at hip hop.

My favourite game to watch was heads up because it was so funny how the teachers were acting out what the paper was labelled.

Daily Fitness

This week Rooms 9, 10 and 12 are doing running for fitness every morning. When we started, I was really confused and annoyed at the same time. I was jogging with my buddy Vika. We had to run for 10 minutes around the senior block. Lastly when I was finished, I had to breathe through my nose and out of my mouth. What I mostly need to work on is sustaining my pace.

πŸ’§The Storm In Rotorua 😌

In Rotorua there was a big storm. Lots of rain and floods damaged about 30 houses. It was quite critical.

The next day, rain was constantly coming down through in the night time. Luckily lots of people were moved and evacuated from the areas to safety from this awful weather!
