On Monday, Room 12 year 8's and year 7's hosted the Syndicate Assembly. We did a wonderful job, placing people where they should go. It was quite challenging hosting assembly, because we had alot of people to put in places, but we still managed.
We did a "Syndicate Got Talent" based on how much talent people can show off. Two people from each senior class had to represent their class by dancing or singing. Overall, the winner for the talent show was, Room 9.
We had a great time together and we were proud and happy to represent Room 12 in the assembly.
I am a Year 8 student at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 12 and my teachers are Mrs Golder and Mr Reid.

😔 How This Year Is Coming To An End! 😔
Finally no more tests and no more frustration for these last two weeks. As soon as I thought that this year was coming to an end and how everything has gone by so quickly I really feel depressed and happy at the same time. Half of me feels sad and the other half of me feels happy. I am really looking forward for next year as I am turning into a Year 8.

🎥 Maniakalani Film Festival 🎥
Ruapotaka School was very lucky to go to Sylvia park, because we had an opportunity to be apart of the Maniakalani community. Every schools from the Tamaki area, made a movie for the film festival. Maniakalani is an every year celebration for all schools in this area to make a movie. Our movie was about Rugby Values, it was all about how you can corporate with others and have teamwork with others. We had two people that had confidence from our class that represented our movie who were Vaimoana and Meafou.
My favourite movie was Tamaki primary, because they had inspirational people that could sing and dance.
Hope you enjoy our movie !

Finally Our Last Test For The Week !
Today we had our last test for the week, which was reading, we had to replace words with a similar one. We had academic words that, we didn't know. The meanings of the words can be similar to words that we dont know. Also I felt very pleased about doing it, and hopefully I get a better result.

Orienteering
Today we did "Orienteering", inside because we had to use our brain to match up the symbols on the map. We had to get into groups of 4, so we can play relays with each other. First we had, two groups on one side, and the other two groups on the other side. From each two groups from each side they had to go against each other. The game we were playing was matching up the symbols. Who ever wins goes again, until theirs an a official winner.

Our New Rotation
At tech we rotated to another class which was art. I felt really excited about our new class because I heard we were doing art. We were told to draw our names in different letter writing.
I started off using some block wirting for my first letter of my
word. I felt really happy with myself when I drawled the first letter of my name. Once I finished my first name I moved on to my last name, I started my last name with some bubble writing. When I finished I coloured everything in.
When I finished my whole name I showed everyone and they said it looks incredible.

Our Pasificka Study Performance
Today at our assembly every class performed an item relating to the traditional of Samoan and Tongan. The performance started off from room 1. Followed by 5, 6, 7, and then finally the seniors room 9, 10, and 12. My favorite performance was room 1, they performed an traditional Samoan dance called the Sāsā. There actions that they performed was very active to the Samoan dance that they were doing. When it was Room 12's turn we went up and sang HOW FAR I'LL GO. I thought it will be hard because there was a whole lot of people staring at me, but when I stood up I started to become less scared and more confident.

Daily Fitness🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃
Every week we always do circuits and running for our daily fitness. We do all kinds of fitness, at each station when we do our circuits like one of them are called static stretches.
When we do our running we always get timed 10min run. When I run I felt tired and sweaty also when I do my circuits. When I do circuits my buddies in my group help me force myself to do every station.
What I think about daily fitness is quite hard and focusing. When you do fitness you really have to think about focusing on what you are doing to your body and if you want to get fit or not.

Tapa Cloth During
What did we do for art ?
For art we drew a Tapa cloth to create the patterns of Tonga, we used our imaginary mind to thing what we might do. For my art I dured a big flower in the middle and small flowers in the four corners. Also I did patterns in the outsides of the flower and the outsides of the paper. I used a black pencil to darken the flowers and the out lines so that it can stand out , I also shaded the flowers in so that you could see the darkness more.

The reason why we had to draw a tapa cloth because it was Tongan language week.
